Invitations to two important meetings:

1.Consultation on the Establishment of the National Taskforce to Implement Bilateral MOUs on Trafficking

The Consultation on the Establishment of Only One National Taskforce to Implement Bilateral MOUs on Trafficking will be held in the morning from 7:30am to midday. This consultation meeting is facilitated by the Ministry of Women’s Affairs and financially supported by UNFPA. The purpose of this meeting is to receive stakeholder input into the creation of one National Taskforce to implement trafficking-related MOUs. Please find attached the decision signed by His Excellency Prime Minister Hun Sen to establish the National Taskforce. Please kindly RSVP by Thursday, 16 November 2006  to the Organizing Working Group through Tel: 012 433 681 and 012 222 496.

2. Stakeholder Group Meeting on Human Trafficking

The Stakeholder Group Meeting on Human Trafficking will be held in the afternoon from 2pm to 5pm. The meeting will be chaired by Ms. Lesley Miller, Head of the Child Protection Programme, UNICEF, and the secretariat to the meeting is UNIAP. Please find attached the minutes to the last Stakeholder Meeting held on Human Trafficking held 22 August, 2006. The main objective of this meeting is to coordinate and share information on various new projects and publications in the trafficking sector in Cambodia and to discuss issues of concern.

The second session of this meeting will have a particular focus on discussing issues of reintegration and participants’ input in this section would be appreciated. Please find attached some ideas and discussion points that may be raised in the discussion section of the meeting for your consideration. Please click on the links below to find the Khmer and English copies of the report Life after Reintegration: The Situation of Child Trafficking Survivors for your perusal. This report will be presented and discussed at the meeting.
