National Press Club "NEWSMAKER" Panel on Human Trafficking Prevention
 
A panel of government, media, non-profit and activist organizations will present a discussion on
 "Human Trafficking Prevention”
 
A panel including representatives from the Department of Justice, Financial Times, International Organization for Migration, Project Hope International and an international photojournalist will discuss current dynamics, legal challenges, success stories, and new developments surrounding the world situation on human trafficking that is affecting millions of lives from Bangkok to Washington, DC.
 
Participants will include:

  • Christina Arnold, Founder and Executive Director of Project Hope International
  • Grace Chung Becker, Deputy Assistant Attorney General in the Civil Rights Division at the Department of Justice
  • Amy Kazmin, Bangkok-based South East Asia Correspondent for the Financial Times
  • Nicolas Lainez, social anthropologist and photojournalist, whose photographs are part of a month-long exhibit on Human Trafficking at the National Press Club opening May 1
  • Vivita Rozenbergs, Head of Counter Trafficking Unit in the Regional Office for North America and the Caribbean with the International Organization for Migration (IOM)

The moderator will be Keri Douglas, a press club member and Chair of the NPC Exhibits Committee, who is head of Nine Muses International, a communications agency focused on promoting just causes internationally.
