ECPAT International is an international non-government organization that operates as a network of 71 member groups and coalitions across 64 countries. ECPAT is committed to End Child Prostitution, Child Pornography and Trafficking of Children for Sexual Purposes. It works at the forefront of global initiatives to combat the commercial sexual exploitation of children and served as co-organizer of the First and Second World Congresses against the Commercial Sexual Exploitation of Children (CSEC), held in Stockholm in 1996 and Yokohama in 2001. The work of the ECPAT network is guided by the Agenda for Action declared at Stockholm in 1996. Now, 161 governments have signed the Agenda, thus committing their countries to act to combat the commercial sexual exploitation of children. The ECPAT web site includes a comprehensive country-by-country database on the situation regarding the commercial sexual exploitation of children. The site also gives details on ECPAT's many programmes, including campaigns against child sex tourism and child pornography on the Internet, the push for legal reforms, the development of a global network, and the promotion of youth participation.
