Activities

Save the Children, UK works with governments and partners to prevent child trafficking, supporting those who are caught up in it, and tackling the root causes of poverty, economic instability and organized crime. We raise awareness of the threat in areas where it is a problem, provide education and training for vulnerable children so they are less likely to fall victim to traffickers, put pressure on traffickers to stop, help to repatriate children and resettle them with their families.

Save the Children, UK is working to address the problem of child trafficking in Myanmar, China, Thailand, Laos and Vietnam. Their activities include:

Educating children and families in border areas about the threat of trafficking
Putting local pressure on traffickers to stop their activities
Training children to make informed choices before they migrate for work, and raising awareness about sexual health and HIV/AIDS
Helping to repatriate children who've been trafficked, and reintegrating them back into their families and communities.

Save the Children UK partners with Lao Youth Union and the Ministry of Labor and Social Welfare.
