UNDP Launches Anti-Trafficking Trainers Manuals

March 2004

In February, the Romanian Ministry of Administration and Interior launched an initiative in Bucharest with UNDP and the U.S. Agency for International Development (USAID) to disseminate a law enforcement manual for border police, special police investigators and prosecutors. It adopts the most advanced standards in the world.

The manual emphasizes the protection and security of victims as witnesses in judicial investigations. UNDP and the Ministry developed it over the past two years in a project to enhance regional cooperation in fighting trafficking by strengthening the capacities of specialized anti-trafficking investigators. USAID provided funding.

UNDP Anti-Trafficking Trainers Manual available for download.
